The Aston Martin V8 Volante was launched in June 1978, a few months before the Series 4 variant of the coupe, which became the Oscar India. Both cars featured a re-profiled bonnet with a ‘power bulge’ in place of the air intake scoop of the Series 3, under which sat four twin-choke Weber carburettors feeding the venerable 5. 3 litre V8 engine. In the cabin meanwhile, wood trim returned for the first time since the DB2/ 4. Performance was a given with the 310bhp available and 60mph was achieved in around 6 seconds and top speed was approaching 150mph.
This particular automatic example was delivered to its first owner in January of 1981 and is specified in British Racing Green, trimmed with magnolia primary hides and dark green secondary hides.
Since new it has had 7 owners in total and is accompanied by a substantial history file showing a lifetime of diligent upkeep, including a thorough recommissioning at Classic Astons in 2016.
Most recently it has been fettled at marque specialist Pugsley and Lewis and it presents in fine condition throughout commensurate with its mileage of just over 60, 000.
An iconic Aston, ready for its next owner to enjoy to the full.
