Description
Sad to say goodbye to my cherished BMW Z3 2. 8, which I have owned for 9 years and 30. 000 miles. Unfortunately a change in circumstances has meant I need to now sell her.
First introduced in 1995, the Z3 got the engine and body it really deserved in 1997, with the silky smooth M52B28 2. 8 straight-six under the bonnet, and purposeful ‘wide-body’ arches making all the difference to the looks, and for a perfect balance of sportiness and prettiness. This 1997 model is one of the earliest 2. 8s, a model only made for 2 years with this particular engine, these Z3s are increasingly becoming rare in good condition.
Lovely colour combination in silver with 'Chrome Line' and deep red ostrich leather (factory option), sitting on 18” MV1 alloys complementing the looks beautifully, making for a very good looking machine in my, maybe slightly biased, opinion!. Bodywork in good order, the odd stone chip as expected on a car of this age. The interior is all original and in very good order too, boasting M-sports steering wheel, wind-deflector, electric windows, replaced electric fabric hood, A/ C, ABS, traction control and original radio/ CD-player.
She has just over 122k on the clock, under 5k a year and drives and performs lovely, delivering 30+ average mpg. Full clean MOT with no advisories and well maintained. Some service history. BMW handbook. V5C document present. Original toolkit all in place, 2 keys and relatively recent new Bosch battery.
I searched for a long time before finding her to make sure I got a good one and have thoroughly enjoyed owning her. She has been a very reliable, trusted servant through the years. Prices for good early 2. 8 ‘wide-body’ models are on the rise.
