Road and Race Specialist Cars are delighted to offer this beautiful example of the iconic 1968 MGC Roadster which is finished in Mineral Blue.
Originally supplied to North America in 1968 where it spent most of its life being enjoyed by two owners whilst residing in Virginia California.
Fitted with the delightful straight six power unit and coupled up with the 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive makes this an effortless cruiser for those long UK and European tours.
BAN480G was imported to the UK around 2001 by Brian Hutchinson who commissioned the restoration which appears to be a near nut and bolt restoration based on the presentation today.
The restoration was completed in 2012 and from the outside it looks like the body had new sills, front and rear wings. All of which was carried out to a very high standard. The Mineral blue coachwork gleaming with bright chrome wire wheels and chrome bumpers just sets this car off.
Fitted with the deluxe roof and rear surround windows you get a sense of light and airiness when you are sat behind the wheel. The interior is as good as the rest of the car which has been fully re-trimmed with blue leather seats, new carpets and over mats. New/ refurbished dash and clocks fitted with the very tasteful addition of the volt meter and clock being located where the speaker was once housed. The original speaker is in the back of the car.
There was significant history with the car but this has been misplaced by the previous seller.
This is a superb example ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. On test drive the engine performed very well and the gearbox and overdrive were nice and smooth. Everything worked as it should and the running temperature remained normal even in the heat that we have today.
