Behold, the Holy Grail of Allegros. Some 4000 were sold but it is now fiendishly rare. The Allegro Club say only 12 remain of which 4 are on the road. With the 50th anniversary of the Allegro next year the Allegro is being rediscovered and even quite ordinary 1300s’ have been selling at auction for over 6000 pounds. This pampered Equipe shows 65000 miles from new and has enjoyed a full restoration. The body is rust free and was repainted by the Haynes Motor Museum. It gleams like new. The interior has been renovated including new seat fabric to remove the sagging that afflicts other cars of this age. The suspension has been serviced and parts renewed by Hydragas services and works perfectly. The gearbox has been stripped and fully rebuilt. The engine has also been fully rebuilt with gas flowed cylinder head to improve performance and economy. A marque expert declared it the nicest he’s driven. It would cost you more than the asking price to restore another car to this high standard.
