1974 FORD ESCORT RS2000 Mk1 AVO 2 door SALOON
A very rare opportunity to own a genuine Escort Mk1 RS2000 by Ford Advanced Vehicle Operations.
This fantastic car is stunningly finished in iconic Ford white with blue stripes.
The vehicle has matching numbers and is both MoT and tax free as it is an historic vehicle. It was used extensively by Andrew Smith in the late 1980s-2010 for historic and classic rallies and is well known in the AVO Members Club registered with Member Number 5328 as well as the RS Owner’s Club with membership number 48570.
This car still has its original type 49 shell and most of the panels are still date stamped with the original 1974 date stamp. It has the anti-tramp (fitted), holes for the rear boot floor diff guard, different front strut supports and the most importantly the thicker floor.
The vehicle is showing 91, 000 miles however, it has had a full engine rebuild, new gearbox, new tyres, new exhaust, new brakes and other servicing and restoration work.
The Features include: original AVO RS seats with original headrests which are shaped to fit only the RS2000, 4 Rally spotlights, front headlight shields, spotlight to rear, tinted glass, original RS2000 steering wheel, RS2000 wheels, black roof lining, racing harnesses, six dial original dashboard, 2 spare wheels, battery in the boot, K&N air filter, original door mirrors. The car still features the chassis number stamped into the driver’s side suspension top.
