This sought-after motorcycle has been dry-stored since the 1960s, making it a true gem for any collector. We've recently given it a carburettor clean and replaced the inner tubes. This classic motorcycle has a rich history and is in need of some TLC. We have a video of it running, which you can check out.
This bike is a piece of British motorcycling history and is owned by the renowned East London Lady Trials Rider, Renee Bennett. This particular model is an M20/ 24TES426 MK2 with a Villiers 246cc engine, making it a highly desirable and unique addition to any collection. Renee Bennett was an international trials rider in the 1960s and 70s. She was passionate about supporting young talent and organised the annual Renee Bennett Sunbeam Novice Trial, where participants received a signed certificate. In addition to her love for trials riding, Renee and her husband ran five Howard Powell Motorcycles shops, specialising in the sale of Triumph, BSA, and James motorcycles. Later on, Renee pursued a career in modelling and even appeared in films.
The bike comes with a full V5c logbook. It was previously registered as "7 CJD," but it now carries the plate "LMD 122B." Currently the process of changing it to historic tax class (MOT & tax exempt) which will not take long to acquire.
