Chassis number Y26-29686, Engine number M1-29686
The Yamaha YM1 was the flagship of the marque’s sports bikes in the 1960’s, with its 305cc two-cylinder air-cooled engine being the largest two-stroke of its kind in the world. It was the first Yamaha twin to feature Autolube automatic lubrication driven by a gearbox pump
This machine had a top speed of 103 mph driven through its 5-speed gearbox, and weighed 163 kg
The bike cost approximately £258 when new in 1968 which was expensive at the time
Only having been made for a short period during the 1960’s, the bike is now rare and collectable
This example is an older restoration in superb condition, and still presents very well. This being a later model is also fitted with indicators
It has formed part of a collection since then, and remains un-ridden, so will require some light recommissioning
The history folder includes the V5C
