Description
Originally imported from USA in 1994 the car sat in a barn until I purchased it in 2015. A brand new chassis was fabricated here in Christchurch by a local Coachbuilder. The shell was reconstructed using brand new panels from Kilmartin Automotive in Australia. All other parts were purchased from the various Healey suppliers in the UK and USA.
The entire restoration has been photographed and a spreadsheet prepared which identifies the origin of new or refurbished parts. The engine, gearbox and differential have all been rebuilt by professionals. The bodywork was painted by a local E-Type Jaguar restorer. All brand new interior trim, seats, dash and hood.
The car is built to the original specification with only three exceptions. An upgrade from HS6 to HD8 carburetors, installation of the BJ8 camshaft and the rear reflectors replaced by orange indicators as per the German specification should the car go to Europe.
The car is like brand new and the engine still being run in.
