Classic Car Design offers you this incredible Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 Skyliner! It is a convertible with an electrically retractable hardtop! If it is not the first one, Peugeot was a precursor with the 302 Eclipse in the 30's, it was nevertheless very innovative and rare in 1959. This is the last year of production of this model and here is its most luxurious and powerful version. The car is beautiful and has benefited from a total restoration.
On the outside, the car is superb, the whole is in perfect condition. The white and blue metallic paintwork, which has benefited from a polish, is sparkling. The chrome and trims are numerous and the car is also equipped with a few additional accessories: the impressive continental-kit, the fender skirts, the "tracking" headlights with integrated rear-view mirror, the size antenna... The very long rear trunk swings back to "swallow" the roof of this large coupe.
Inside, the finish is of the same standard as the exterior: the two-tone skai and fabric upholstery, the numerous trims and here again some accessories that make the difference: an anti-dazzle system, a "Lady Luck" steering wheel ball, a chrome handkerchief box... Here again, everything is in very good condition, from the carpeting to the roof lining
Mechanically, it's the big V8 FE 352 ci which officiates under the bonnet with its 300hp SAE. That's what it takes to power this almost 6-metre long convertible! It moves the car in a breath and you just have to let yourself be rocked by the soft and comfortable suspensions. The steering is smooth and very responsive and the brakes are effective.
The car is available in France, registered with a collector's title and with 6 seats ! This is a rare opportunity to drive an American car that is out of the ordinary. It was produced between 1957 and 1959 in less than 13000 units. You will be able to enjoy on a vintage car what may seem common today: a hardtop convertible!
