The car
In 1967, Shelby American built and released the first GT500 based on the 1967 Mustang fastback. This classic muscle car look was backed by a stout 428 cubic inchV8 that put down 355 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Weighing in at, 3370lbs, this GT500 would run a 15-second flat quarter mile at 95 mph (ca. 153 km/ h). This early, Shelby has everything going for him. It has the right colors, no striping and has great extra options. Nevertheless, it is also in an incredible state! The car is amazing to see, as it is a part of great history!
The car comes from the USA in Chicago, Illinois. The car has had a partial restoration. Because that was all that was needed when we got the car. The underside is restored by the car, because it had some work to be done to be in perfect condition. Also, we give the engine bay and engine a fresh paint job. All the interior looks like new! Only 200 from the 67' Shelby's are in Brittanny blue! Overall, the car is in a great state!
The engine
The car has the 428 V8 Police interceptor engine. These engines alone are already becoming pretty wanted and rare. So Ford claimed that the engine had 355 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. But it people claim it had actually more horsepower and torque. The reason for this is these days more of a legend. But one claim is that they did this for insurance purposes.
