HERE is my latest acquisition, a 1967 Rover P5 Coupe Mark III, the very last of the 3-litre straight-6 models before the switch to the V8 unit. These P5 coupes are just the most delightful design (I always thought that from childhood and so it is hardly a recent opinion!) and this particular example is in superb condition having being utterly cherished from new. Was she known as Mabel? (see the reg.) Probably. Anyway, she has had just three owners from new. The first held on to her for five years covering around 50, 000 miles and then she found owner number two who kept her for almost half a century. In fact the gentleman retained her from 1972 until 2001 covering pretty much the same amount of miles again but this time over a 49-year-old period. His service history, repair work and general enormous amount of love and care is all there, recorded in the vehicle's huge history file. Owner number three acquired her in 2001 following the death of her long time keeper.

In my opinion, this is a Condition 1 example of an iconic Rover. You can barely hear the beautiful engine on tick over and she performs as she you would expect. Finished in Bordeaux Red with a Silver Birch roof and Sandalwood buckskin interior, she is a total delight. If you are a fan of the 3-litre models - and especially the highly sought after coupe version - then you will search far and wide if you are to find a better example for the money. Not perfect, and thus not concours, but a beautiful car all the same. One or two minor imperfections in the paintwork, but in my view none of this detracts from the overall beauty of the vehicle.

This description is based on my opinion of the vehicle, the paperwork that comes with the car and anything I have been told about it. The vehicle is more than 50-years-old and this cannot be taken as a definitive statement for obvious reasons. As with most classic cars, there may be faults and quirks whilst, almost inevitably, some degree of tinkering and care will always be called for. Such are the joys of owning an antique vehicle and they must be taken within their own context and not compared to modern day cars. They are sold as old, mainly out-dated machines and are sold by me without any comeback whatsoever. They are my terms and conditions.

My classic cars are motoring antiques. This car, for example, is 55-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply. Please bear all this in mind, and enjoy your classic car. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote.

I have now been established as a one-man band classic car dealer for 20 years and pride myself on my buying prowess and - due to small margins - my prices which I firmly believe are up there among the very best in the UK classic car marketplace.
