Description
1969 Volkswagen T2a Bay Window, completely original, unrestored and rare Westfalia Oslo with all original accessories and 126k miles and new engine 1, 000miles ago. Believed to be 1 of only 3 or 4 Oslo's left in the world. Originally bought by an American couple living in Switzerland, who toured Europe before shipping back to their home in Florida (Using VW Tourest Delivery Programme) in the early 70’s where she offered years of service and camping trips in New Hampshire. In 1996 Bluebell’s ownership passed to their daughter, who drove her only once and dry stored her in the garage before being shipped to UK in 2006. In 2006 Bluebell was giving a full mechanical overhaul by her then new owner and I purchased her in 2009 having made contact with all surviving owners. She is used on weekends and holidays but is only used in the dry, not on wet roads and never in winter. All other times she is dry stored in a secure garage. As a car design engineer myself Bluebell is kept to the highest standard, having just recieved a new fuel lines and engine 1, 000 miles ago, Bluebird stainless exhaust and CSP front disc brake conversion. The original Eberspacher heater has also been serviced and works well on the original timer. The interior is near perfect with no rips or tears as is the roof, I have all original accessories (original Westfalia tent & toilet, lamp, original curtains) and a huge amount of history from her life (maps, receipts & memorabilia). The bed is full width and there is also a single hamock in the roof, and a child's size hammock that fits across the front seats. Paint is original Neptune Blue with age related marks but no rust and the underside is waxoyled. Tyres are all good and inner tubes are also fitted. This is a very sad sale of a very, very rare original van that I want to go to a good home, where she will be looked after well. Please, serious enquiries only
