Chassis number 36/ 8510 - Black Badge Edition. After the legendary F1 driver Jim Clark tragically died while racing a Lotus F2 car in 1962, Lotus used these black badges to mourn his death for a limited period, making cars with these badges extremely, rare and highly collectible. This cherished example is offered with an immaculately presented history folder dating from 1979 when the car was with the previous lady owner to 2007 along with the current owners entries from 2007 to date. Of note the, vendor states that the cars earlier history shows inoices mainly from Paul Matty Sports Cars and records a new chassis and wiring loom at approximately 79000 miles. There is also detail of "every" invoice during the vendors custodianship from, September 2007 to date including importantly a new dash fitted during 2021. The car was first registered in London on January 3rd 1969.
