Here we have a nice original Stuttgart-built 1999 Boxster 2. 5 in rare Arena Red, the car having had just 4 owners in total, the last for over 11 years. 94, 756 miles on the odometer, an average of just under 4, 000 miles a year, and with a solid service history with 12 stamps showing in the service record, plus invoices in the file for a further three. We have prepared the car for sale with a Major service, new spark plugs and ignition coils, brake fluid change, auxiliary drive belt and idler pulley, new exhaust clamps and sleeves, front brake pads and a driver’s side window regulator.
Looking great in Arena Red with black leather interior, this Boxster was ordered with a fairly standard set of options – 17? Twist spoke alloy wheels (shod with N-rated Michelin tyres), automatic air conditioning, on-board computer, wind deflector, storage box on engine cover, and headlamp washer system. In addition, the car also comes with a genuine hardtop (purchased by the previous owner, and painted by him – not particularly well, it has to be said!).
On the road, T162BRS drives really nicely, with well matched control weights, light clutch pedal, precise steering and sure-footed handling. The brakes are powerful, and the smooth 2. 5 flat six engine provides a stirring soundtrack and decent performance. The front suspension was refreshed a few years ago, with new coffin arms, tuning forks and drop links, which gives a lovely fresh feeling to the ride and handling (and no clonking, rattling or creaking either!).
The paintwork appears largely original (we think the bonnet has been painted due to typical stone chipping) and there is the odd blemish – the front bumper has a mark in the paint protection film, both mirror caps have a small piece of failed lacquer, and there is a blemish and scratch to the top of the nearside rear wing – but overall the car presents well. The black soft top is in great order, having had a new rear window stitched in around 5 years ago.
