This BMW (E36) M3 Evolution was first registered August 1998 (S Reg) and is finished in Titan Silver with a Black soft-top roof, Black ‘Walknappa’ leather interior with fine wood trim on the handbrake and centre console. The desirable body-coloured hardtop roof is also available at £1, 000 plus VAT. It rides on 17-inch double-spoke ‘Style 24’ forged alloy wheels, shod with a recent set of four tyres. It is powered by the superb 3. 2-litre ‘S50’ straight-six, producing 316bhp, coupled to the rare six-speed ‘SMG’ automated manual transmission.
Delivered via Chandlers BMW, it was driven regularly until 2011, when it was placed into storage. It emerged in 2018 and has been driven sparingly ever since.
The factory specification includes: Multifunction M steering wheel, Electric Windows, Central Front Armrest, Heated Front Sport Seats, Electrically Adjustable Rear Headrests, Park Distance Control, Automatic Air conditioning, Cruise Control and On-board Computer.
The Service History is recorded in the original BMW Service Handbook and shows the car as being looked after in the franchise network until 2004 when 35, 780 miles had been recorded. Subsequently, eight services have been recorded by Independent specialists the last at 59, 300 miles in October 2022 by Johnson Motors (a BMW Specialist).
Needless to say the last keeper was an avid collector and has been meticulous with maintenance with the car wanting for nothing. In December 2022; the air intake, both rear ARB links and associated bolts and lower brackets, as well as the power steering reservoir lines were replaced. In October 2021 the front-to-rear brake lines, sump gaskets and seals, outer track rod ends, offside rear trailing arm bush and bolt, crankshaft oil seal and power steering pump seals were replaced.
The most recent MOT test was on 16 January 2023 at 59, 358 miles, with no Advisories. A wealth of paper-work invoices etc. accompanies the car, even the BMW franchise network invoices going back to pre-2004. It has the original, handbooks, tools, stickers and even the torch! Other than the radio (the previous owner changed it for a bluetooth compatible), this car is spectacularly original.
Now a sought-after car and along with all BMW “M” cars they have an avid and enthusiastic following. This car can only be described as an un-molested and highly original example with no signs of over over-energetic use or lack of care. A delight to drive and in-common with all our cars, it will have nose to tail pre-delivery inspection and three-months warranty.
