ALFA ROMEO 105 GT RARE HISTORIC RACE CAR PROJECT - GREAT OPPORTUNITY!
Here is an opportunity to buy into a great historic racing project!
This car has been a racer for most of its life and was imported (all duties paid) into the U. K some time ago.
Starting life in 1969 as a LHD Step-front 1300GT it was converted into a wide-body 1300GTA Gp. 2-type racer many years ago and formed part of a successful 2-car team before being retired.
Commissioned to have a full restoration, it was entrusted to Richard Drake, the 105-Series Alfa Romeo race guru at his Norwich establishment, where the comprehensive restoration of the shell commenced.
The project is now at a stage where it can be taken forward by a new owner, (especially now that the specialist fabrication work has been completed), or it can be completed to order.
THE PROJECT COMPRISES OF:
1300GT Junior shell LHD, with new floors, both side 3-piece sills, new GTA wide wing panels, new FIA custom-made roll cage (Caged Laser) tailor-made to the car.
Custom-built fibreglass bonnet, boot and doors.
Shell fitted with Alfaholics watts linkage set-up.
Rebuilt LSD axle
Rebuild 'short 5th' Gearbox
Race suspension (from the original car) requiring overhaul.
All original glass/ lights / electrics / instruments.
NOVA import certificate.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a part-restored project that is totally dismantled and requiring completion.
Photos show shell in present condition.
Photos of painted car, suspension and interior show these prior to restoration (Now all dismantled).
With auction prices of similar cars (without period provenance) fetching strong money, this project offers an exciting opportunity to complete the process at a reasonable budget.
