Purchased in 1958 by the vendors father who was the third owner; he bequeathed it to his son whom now at the ripe age of 78 has decided to pass it on to its next custodian.
This car really is in impeccable condition. The car had a full engine rebuild including a dynamic balancing where each componenet was weighed & pared down to match to the last couple of grams to ensure utterly smooth running of the engine. As a result the engine runs in silence, starts instantly & really is far far smoother then the average engine one typically comes across.
This car is well travelled having resided in Berlin whilst the owner was on military duty there. Indeed the car was repatriated to the UK in the back of a Hercules Transport aircraft no less when his tour ended. During that time the car had a full rewire perfomed on it & the rear interior wood refinished.
The car is in its original clour of Masons black with the paint being in really fine order having been the recipient of a respray not so long ago. The seats are black to the front & beige west of england cloth to the rear. Twin occasional seats fold out making this car a full 7 seater.
A good assortmant of bills come with the car with paperwork also pertaining to earlier owners one of whom was a noted Q. C. A bewigged picture of him comes with the car. Indicated mileage is 81, 637 as of today.
Possibly the best part of this car is the driving experience. Having never been apart it has a wonderfully together feel that restored cars always seem to lack. Steering is taut & precise. The one shot lubrication system in connected & fully functional. The Hobson telegage on the dash has had an LED light system installed inside it which indicates the current fuel level as indeed the Hobson used to do.
Under the bonnet little need be said as it is simply immacualate. The Lucas oil can comes with the car but is not in situ as a full flow oil filter has been fitted where the oil can used to reside.
Under the drivers seat is a drawer containing an almost complete tool kit of the small RR tools. Large tools are found in their appointed places under the bonnet, along with a starting handle. Ace wheel discs are fitted all round & the wheels shod with good tyres.
This is a way above average car in super order with 6 decades of continuous family ownership. It has a delightfully period feel to it & elicits smiles wherever it goes. It wants for nothing & the A1 condition we find it in is the result of it being a labor of love for the current onwer.
