1962 BMW 2600 - exellent convertible conversion For Sale

  • Germany

Description

The Type 501 limousine is the first BMW passenger car after the war. The loss of the BMW plant in Eisenach made itself felt and so these cars could not be delivered until November 1952. As the six-cylinder engine was inefficient for the large car, BMW developed a completely new V8 unit. Incidentally, this was the first German eight-cylinder engine of the post-war period. The body with box frame also made special bodywork possible again. This is how wonderful convertibles were built by the specialist company Baur in Stuttgart. The vehicles could be ordered with two or four doors. More than 130 convertibles and coupés were built.

Our beautiful BMW 2600 Cabriolet was built by a German coachbuilder as a conversion. A perfect job! On this occasion, the more powerful V8 engine with 3. 2 litres capacity was also installed. With this classic car you travel confidently with the top down, it doesn’t get any better than this.
