The MG F, typically a car that was somewhat overshadowed by competitors such as the Mazda MX-5, Fiat barchetta, and Toyota MR2 in its time. Unfairly so, because this compact two-seater is built according to the incredibly fun mid-engine concept and offers plenty of driving pleasure. Its arrival in 1995 was somewhat influenced by the legendary MG B.

The MG B was undoubtedly an incredible success for the brand. MG stopped production of the best-selling model in 1980, but in 1992, the B made a brief comeback in reincarnated form: the MG RV8. It was a limited edition roadster, based on the classic B but with a more modern touch and equipped with a hefty V8 engine. The response was so positive that an agreement was reached for a truly new successor, and thus the F was presented in 1995. It was a completely new model with a 1. 8-litre four-cylinder mid-engine located behind the front seats, providing 118 horsepower for sporty performance. The years flew by, and the F brochure regularly featured special editions.

A more powerful engine, the VVC, was also introduced, initially with 147 horsepower and eventually reaching 160 horsepower by the end of its career. With this power, the MG F even achieved a sub-seven-second 0 to 100 sprint, still quite impressive performance today.

This bright yellow MG F Trophy 160 is a very late model. This variant was introduced in 2001, a year before the F was replaced by the TF. The Trophy 160 can be considered the most desirable version of the F and TF series, not only because of the increased power but also due to several very appealing modifications.

In terms of driving characteristics, it is an even greater pleasure than the already enjoyable regular MG F. The Trophy 160 features motorsport-inspired springs and dampers that also lower the car by 20 mm. Stopping power is improved thanks to the 304 mm ventilated brake discs from AP Racing. The 16? forged alloy wheels and front spoiler lip are exclusive to this variant. There are also numerous small special components, such as the mesh grille, darkened headlamp housings, and various interior modifications.

This Trophy 160 may have led the most peaceful life of all the Trophy models. The car was first registered in 2010. And by that, we mean not just on Dutch registration, but in general: this F only needed to look beautiful for the first nine years of its life. Even when the English roadster received its registration in 2010, its life remained rather straightforward: the MG has only clocked up 6, 700 kilometres in all those years. Yes, an average of about 500 to 600 kilometres per year, so you can assume that this two-seater has never seen rain, let alone winter landscapes. This means that this Trophy Yellow F is essentially in pristine condition.

This is a unique opportunity to acquire an affordable yet highly characteristic roadster with incredibly enjoyable driving characteristics and reliable technology!
