Here for sale we are delighted to present this smart ex-military soft top Series 3, which we sold locally to York back in 2017. Due to a change of circumstances for the keeper, we are now able to bring this vehicle to market once again. During this period, it has been driven 1000 miles to various rallies and shows, whilst being kept under cover.
On the outside, as the photos show, there are lots of period military features remaining such as the rear NATO hitch, rear grab handles, and front lamp guards. A recent canvas and a period bonnet mounted spare are also fitted, which is nice to see. The vehicle sits on a set of 750 tyres, of similar “chevron” style to the military issue – these are directional and self cleaning, give additional height and provide a great compromise between off-road ability and on road compliance. They also lengthen the gearing ratios slightly, for a more relaxed cruise and more progressive acceleration in gear.. The paintwork is as one would expect for a military machine, which looks just as it should do.
The interior is very much standard, with 3 standard front seats and deluxe matting fitted throughout as with all our vehicles. The rear, although unfitted could house bench seats on request for £595 to allow for seven passengers including the driver.
In summary then, if you are looking for a soft top Series 3 in “standard spec” then this ex-military machine has great charm…. and with those tyres it should give good service in the winter weather we are currently enduring, and come the summer, will give “wind in the hair” fun!
