In the 1980s, manufacturers were in a ‘Hot Hatch’ war on the track, stage and the road, trying their very best to produce affordable, fast cars for the masses that would win on a Sunday and sell on a Monday. The Mk. II Astra was one of those cars that got youngsters hooked on fast cars. The 8V variant, like this one, produced 130bhp and 0-60 in just 8. 5 seconds.
The Nostalgia remains here with an almost unmodified example in gleaming white paint with sunroof, the only aftermarket items being speakers in the parcel shelf. That sloped hatch body with 1980s decals and badges just takes you right back. The bodywork on the car is in fantastic order having had recent work; the wheels looking superb in white too. The underside and engine bay are in almost equally good order. The interior looks well for its age with minimal wear and the iconic digital dashboard appears to work as it should, what a brilliant feature. The vendor reports that the car runs and drives well. A very useable retro car that is bound to turn heads whatever you do with it. G78 JRP is offered with a current V5 registration document showing seven former keepers.

For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
