We have something of a legend here in the shape of this mighty 1987 Honda XR600R.
The Honda XR600R is almost the definition of an off road bike and has an enviable racing pedigree including 5 Baja 1000 wins!
Our particular bike is a very early example, It lived the first part of its life abroad and came to our shores in 2002 and has had 5 former keepers since that time.
It starts and runs fine and sounds like a beast thanks to the Predator exhaust. It is registered and fully road legal with a current MOT until 7th July 2023. Although we have no evidence, we understand from the previous keeper that the carburettor has been rebuilT, following on from an engine rebuild two years ago.
The overall condition of the bike is original but good, though there is evidence that it has been used for what it was built for in the past, with some chips and marks to the frame and engine casings but no dents or cracks. The plastic mud guards are showing some tarnishing to the gel coating but again are damage and crack free. All in all it is a handsome if slightly intimidating looking bike!!
Those of you that are interested in this handsome scrambler, will either want to use it as it is or perhaps undertake a full restoration and park it in the living room to be admired forever more.
So, summing up this is a very rare opportunity own what is surely the definitive off road bike, not only of a generation but for two or three.
