The 12/ 50 was the mainstay of Alvis establishing them as a car producer of the highest quality.
This car was produced on 18/ 11/ 1925 sent to Messrs. British Tractors Ltd. of Manchester and registered to a Robert Carver as first owner. The current owner being only the fifth in almost a century.
A frequent entrant in various VSCC events including the Anglo-American Rally in 1954, apparently winning it in the 1957 return match. Perhaps more impressively the car ran from from Rochdale to John O'Groats (596 miles) in one day.
We understand the car was rebuilt in the 1960`s possibly receiving it's replacement engine at that time . Much more recent work includes , re-trimming, new clutch, bushes and King bushes, new brakes and spring shackles. The car is currently MOT`d and ready for many more miles.
The car has the 1645cc four cylinder engine with Solex updraught carburettor and produces 50bhp being good for over 60mph. A very fine car for the price.
