We are very pleased to offer a very sexy and rare 1977 Austin Mini Clubman 1100cc. Finished in the very seventies colour of Vermillion Red with contrasting black velour trim. Clubman's are a rare sight these days and very sought after especially if you want to to stand out from the crowd. This example was registered new by Seletar Garage of Norfolk and still wears both its original number plates. It has only covered an incredibly low 42 thousand miles in 46 years. It is accompanied with its original stamped Passport to Service book, many MOT certs and a raft of service receipts. It was fortunately Ziebart wax injected from new which has done a wonderful job of preserving the shell. This is also a full matching numbers example and still wares its body tag, FE number and commission number. All of the original Sundym glass is etched. It has clearly been cared for and remains unrestored with many more years ahead of it.
On the road this Clubman drives very well indeed. The original and now very rare, 1100cc engine performs very well indeed and benefits from having a stage one kit fitted which has given it very useful power. I have not driven an 1100cc Mini for a while and I instantly remembered the extra torque and power on offer over the 1000c engine. Brisk performance and excellent handling thanks to wider profile Falken tyres with an original set of 1275 GT Rostyle wheels. It also benefits from having Cooper S disc brakes with a servo so it offers an excellent driving experience especially on the twisty stuff.
The interior is very well preserved and the full seventies experience is on offer in here. Black velour seats with matching door cards. The original two clock binnacle and roof liner. It does have another useful upgrade which are inertia reel rear seat belts. It also has the later MPI two speed heater, a CD/ AUX with under seat 6x9 speakers fitted. There is also a very sexy Mota-Lita three spoke steering wheel.
This Clubman has a very solid shell which is mostly original. It has the correct vented sills, original wings, front panel and untouched boot floor. The engine bay is also very nicely detailed. The paintwork gleams and belies its vintage with only minor imperfections and combined with the wheels it has a subtle but purposeful look.
We have fully serviced, checked and driven this Clubman and it also has a full MOT which it passed. It is also MOT and Tax exempt. This Clubman instantly draws a crowd and certainly gets people talking but more importantly it will make you smile on the open road.
