1976 Bristol 411 Series 5



The Bristol 411 was first launched in 1968, this specific example is the final series of the 411 evolution the Series 5, fitted with a 6. 6 Chrysler V8 engine, which produced 335BHP. A contemporary account by John Bolster describes the 411 as the ?fastest true four-seater touring car of it?s time, beating its closest rival, the 6. 3 Litre Mercedes-Benz 300SEL, at Maximum spend and acceleration?.



This Bristol 411 Series 5 was first registered on 23rd April 1976. Bristol Cars purchased this example from a valued customer in April of 2012 at this time Bristol Cars LTD were offering two types of restorations, the Classic Restoration and the Series 6 conversion, this specific example had the Classic restoration package.



Mechanically, the car has been thoroughly, yet sympathetically upgraded. The 6. 6 litre Chrysler V8 breathes using an Edelbrock carburettor, and uses electronic ignition. An uprated aluminium radiator and oil cooler, alongside an uprated alternator and high-torque starter motor ensure reliability for fast road use in modern traffic.



Bristol Cars fitted their ?bespoke handling pack? that was developed in house by their engineers to ensure footed yet rewarding handling. This package includes uprated springs, dampers and anti-roll bars at the front, with upgraded dampers and wider track at the rear. The brakes are performance AP Racing for ultimate stopping power within the 16? Bristol Snowflake alloy wheels.



The interior received a complete retrim in Cream hides with Blue piping and features suede headlining and a hand stitched dashboard along with the bespoke woodwork for the Air Conditioning system fitted. A Becker Mexico with Satellite Navigation and high quality speakers complete the experience.



Bristol Cars used this 411 for many high profile events between 2013-2016, as well as having featured in a number of articles in major international publications.



The current owner purchased the car from Bristol Cars in November 2016, since then Spencer Lane-Jones have looked after the car, this includes £15, 000+ recommissioning work in 2021.
