We are delighted to present for sale this early Series 2a Land Rover®, finished in the classic Deep Bronze Green colour scheme with colour coded wheels and Sand Canvas.
Externally, as the photos show, the bodywork survives in good order with no silly additions or chequer-plate. There are a host of period features such as the free wheeling hubs, recent galvanised front bumper, recent canvas, vintage number plates, glass indicators and side lights, wing mounted mirrors, razor bonnet, rear grab handles etc etc. Due to its age, the vehicle also has an interesting number plate which just could be your initials! A towball and electrics is fitted to allow towing.
The interior is largely a standard affair with original Elephant Hide seats complete with matching tailgate chain covers, spoke steering wheel, twin individual wiper motors, heater with front demist and deluxe matting to the footwells. A seat belt bar has been fitted with inertia reel belts for safety and far improved convenience. As can be seen from the photos, the dash is nice and standard. The rear is unfitted except for a load mat to the rear floor to protect against damage and scratches.
Out on the road, this Series 2a gives a really good account of itself with comparatively light steering, strong brakes and a great sounding engine which pulls really well. A set of cross climate tyres means the best compromise between on and off road ability.
In summary, if you are looking for a period Series 2a that hasn?t been messed about with, then this lovely old girl could be for you. With the added benefits of MOT & Tax exemption, along with classic insurance, it should prove to be a sound investment and simple and cheap to maintain.
