Here we have my personal Ferrari 599 GTB that I have enjoyed for the last 2. 5 years. Beautifully finished in the ultra rare and classy colour that is Rosso Rubino micalizzato. The car has travelled 41, 000 km from new, 12, 000 of them in my ownership.
The car is in exceptional condition throughout and is one of the nicest 599s I have driven. The car is as clean underneath as it is on top with no corrosion which can often be found on uk cars.
The bodywork is beautiful, the paint finish is consistent across all panels and the panel gaps are exemplary.
The interior is essentially as new with no noteworthy marks or wear anywhere. The metal plate next to the throttle pedal retains the original vinyl protective covering! Everything functions as it should and the car feels very high quality on the road. The original Becker head unit is present and functional and Bluetooth has been added to allow music to be played (originally only phone calls were possible via Bluetooth)
The car has exemplary service history with routine maintenance always being carried out as and when required but also benefitting from having the usual 599 weak points addressed.
The 6L v12 Enzo derived engine is a true work of art, delivering 612BHP and a redline of almost 8500 RPM, all whilst remaining docile and silky smooth at slow speeds. The engine is in fine fettle having received consistent maintenance throughout its life.
Prior to my ownership the car benefitted from £13, 000 + worth of work which included a new clutch, flywheel, release bearing, clutch position sensor and a major service. The clutch shows 12% wear now so 88% remaining. I have spent a long time perfecting the setup of the clutch which will go a long way in extending its life. The gearbox is a joy to use, I personally love the F1 box in the 599, it’s as good as the ‘F1’ system ever got before the transition to DCT technology.
The car recently benefitted from the fitment of four brand new (2023 dated) genuine shock absorbers, the dampers on the 599 are known to leak, usually around 25, 000 miles but as they are now all around 15 years old it can be seen at any mileage. This is quite an expensive job as the dampers are approximately £1500 each plus the bushes and spring rubbers plus the labour to fit them. At the same time as the shock replacement the car also benefitted from a full set of hill engineering ball joints and shields, hill engineering front track rod ends and hill engineering rear tie arms as well as a full set of upper wishbone bushes. This work really turned back the hands of time on what was already a very good example.
The car will receive four new tyres upon sale. All four TPMS sensors were replaced recently along with the wheel centre caps
The car has recently benefitted from an annual service and will be sold with 12 months MOT
The car is complete with its original book pack including the original service book, spare keys and a paper history folder
An outstanding example of a 599 finished in a beautiful and very rare colour scheme, having had lots of love (and money!) lavished on the car it is ready to delight its lucky new owner and will be sorely missed!
