This is a highly desirable Bentley Mk VI with “small boot, big bore”, finished to a high standard, in chocolate brown over gold, with cream leather interior. Chassis No. B165 NY was ordered from York Motors on 10th December 1951, specified with colonial front springing, radio, bonnet locks, dust proofed, special oil bath air cleaner, extra tools, and no built in rear number plate in readiness for supply to Sydney, Australia.
In 1959 B165 NY was acquired by Dr Ronald McGlynn and records indicate that by 1961 the car had covered 58, 433 miles. By November 2000, still under the ownership of Dr McGlynn, the mileage was recorded as 16, 219, indicating the car had covered 116, 219 miles which is substantiated via documents within the history file. In January 2003, Dr McGlynn sold B165 NY having owned the car for some 44 years. The new owner, a Mr Wyatt, commissioned Riste Motors in Australia to carry out extensive work on the car. The car was then sold in 2009 and upon its repatriation to the UK the mileage was recorded as 22, 185. The car then covered another 3, 500 miles and had £18, 000 worth of improvements before being sold to the current owner in 2018.
Having been originally supplied to Australia and spending 57 years in a dry climate, B165 NY is in exceptionally sound order.
