Description
Made famous by its four consecutive victories in the Tour Auto with Bernard Consten, the Jaguar Mk2 was considered "the most beautiful car in the world", or "the fastest production saloon". This Jaguar Mk2, sold new in France by the importer at the time, Delecroix, is in superb condition. Restored to sheet metal a few years ago (photo file available), the numerous invoices attest to very regular maintenance. The paintwork and door adjustments are absolutely perfect, and this Jaguar is ready to cover many miles in extraordinary comfort. Putting the car on deck confirms that the side members, engine mount, wheel arches and floorboards are in superb condition. The (optimised) disc brakes are very good, the car braking hard and straight, and the oil pressure is within the manufacturer's recommendations, both hot and cold. The engine revs well with a characteristic noise and has a stable idle, without overheating. Starting is easy, both hot and cold (automatic starter). The gearbox is very pleasant, and the gears don't creak when shifting. The car's exterior is in superb condition. The chrome is new, as are the spoked wheels and central butterfly valve. The spare wheel is of course fitted. The paintwork is magnificent, with a very nice finish. The door adjustments are also very good. The interior of this car is in superb condition, having just undergone a complete refurbishment at the upholsterer's. Note, however, the roof lining which is slackening at the rear window. Delivery possible throughout Europe. 06 months warranty, extendable to 12 months. More photos on our CarJager. com website.
