2003 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage - Carbon Fibre & Sports Pack For Sale

  • 83,113 Miles
  • United Kingdom

Description

A DB7 Vantage rarity – a car that was supplied from new with almost every option available at the time. Aston Martin Sales in Mayfair, London used this vehicle as a showroom display car. This vehicle is in incredible condition, inside and out. The condition truly belies the 83, 113 miles it has done, so seeing is believing in this case.

- The Car -

The DB7 gained supercar status with the V12, the first in AML’s production history. With Ian Callum updating the DB7 i6’s svelte body to give a more muscular look, new suspension all round and that glorious V12 pushing out 420bhp, this was an altogether different car. The list of options available gave owners a real chance to truly personalise their car and this particular vehicle epitomises that personalisation and specification.

Stratstone’s Mayfair showroom in London ordered this vehicle for stock and used this DB7 Vantage to promote the majority, if not all, of the available options for the model. Specified in Tungsten Silver (for the DB7 Vantage, this is a much darker colour than later versions of this silver) with a Charcoal leather interior. The options pack is impressive, including Touchtronic gearbox, 19” alloy wheels, Vanquish / GT seats, carbon fibre trim, rear parking sensors, heated front screen, colour-coded windscreen wiper valance, steel mesh grilles, carbon fibre engine bay panels, grey brake callipers, aluminium foot pedals and an uprated Becker system with navigation and Bluetooth etc.

The options fitted to this car are one thing; its condition is another – and one that belies its 83, 113 miles. This car’s condition would put one with even half the mileage to shame. Other than some very minor stone chips, the car presents as almost immaculate – both externally and internally, with the chassis and mechanicals in very strong shape. So much so, that we would actively recommend showing you this car on one of our ramps so you can see for yourself that these are not just words.

The 19” wheels give the car a slightly more solid feel than a ‘standard’ DB7 Vantage, itself a very solid car, but are ideally suited for motorway driving – which this car has had a lot of. In September 2018, all four tyres were replaced with Michelin Sport Pilots and with limited miles done since, these are all in excellent order. This DB7 Vantage is also fitted with a ‘Tracker’ tracker unit which is presently lifetime subscribed. The radiator has been upgraded to given even better cooling performance and the air conditioning was given a full service and re-gas at the same time.

- Its History -

First registered on the 13th of November 2003, this DB7 Vantage was first serviced by main dealers Stratstone of London and from 2006 by Grange of Essex. From mid-2011 onwards and with 68, 000 miles on the clock, a range of specialists, including Marlow Cars, Chiltern Aston Centre, Elite Garage Services Ltd, Aston DB7. com and latterly by Chicane maintained the car.

The engine was replaced under warranty in September 2004 due to crankshaft issues and is now adorned with carbon fibre panels – the engine bay really drawing the eye and is probably unlike any other DB7 engine bay.

- On the Road -

This is not just an improved DB7 Vantage cosmetically, but its many options do give it a slightly different overall feel. As with all DB7 Vantages, the acceleration and pick-up are smooth across the rev range and when it comes to ride and road holding, the feel is one of control and stability. Though due to the low profile tyres, there is a little more road roar than when compared to the standard 18″ wheels, but with it comes a little less body roll. Steering and braking are good and progressive, feeding back well.

For the taller amongst you, the V12 Vanquish seats sit a little lower, thus giving a bit more headroom and, though it’s a personal opinion, the seats are more supportive.

This DB7 Vantage is most at home with long, relaxed journeys rather than short ones – though it is equally capable of both – and the sublime V12 eats up the miles. But with the 19″ wheels, reduced body roll and Touchtronic gearbox, when the opportunity arises, it gives you that little bit extra.

- Conclusion -

This is an opportunity to own an exceptional condition DB7 Vantage fitted with a very high specification but at an entry-level price. We thoroughly recommend any potential purchasers inspect this vehicle on our ramp to appreciate how the car’s mileage is not proportional to its condition. Plenty of mid-range mileage DB7s are in an average to poor state, so you must give this car the benefit of the doubt. You will not be disappointed.

This DB7 Vantage is available for viewing and demonstration at our Hampshire showroom by appointment only and will be sold with 12 months MOT and a year’s warranty.
