Assembled over thirty years ago by the owner of a genuine Alfa Romeo 8C Short Chassis Zagato as a toolroom copy of his own car. Sadly he passed away before the project was completed.
The chassis is over 30 years old and beautifully manufactured with holes in the correct places ready for spring hangers etc.
Complete 8C Zagato-style body with consistent patinated paintwork. Complete with doors, bootlid, bonnet, wings and wing irons/ stays, running boards, floorboards, toe board, windscreen surround (unfinished), complete battery box, complete tool box, bonnet catches, bulkhead and Autovac tank.
Largely complete 8C engine including new fully assembled supercharger, crankshaft, pistons and conrods. The engine crankcase and sump are older reproductions, the oil pump and water pump are originals. The cylinder blocks are new from Jim Stokes, the cylinder head is new and fully machined. Other engine components include oil sump, cylinder heads, camshafts, pistons, water pump, oil pump, crankshaft, connecting rods, cam covers, breather caps, flywheel, inlet manifolds, supercharged mounting bracket, complete exhaust manifold, exhaust system, Bosch starter motor, Bosch dynamo, Bosch 12v horn and most internal gears.
New radiator shell with top hose fitting.
The 8C magnesium gearbox is complete and fully assembled and comes with a complete clutch and mechanism.
New complete fully machined 8C front axle including kingpins, stub axles, brake backing plates, hubs, brake carriers, brake shoes, brake drums, radius arms and bracketry, brake levers and rods, U bolts, road springs, shock absorbers with top and bottom brackets.
Largely complete original 6C 2300 rear axle with new fully assembled 8C differential and housing (would probably benefit from new half-shafts). Includes bearing carriers, brake backing plates, hubs, torque tube, brake shoes, brake carriers, brake drums, road springs, shock absorbers with top and bottom brackets.
5 x used wheels.
Other parts include Bosch fuse boxes, headlights, radiator to headlight mounting brackets, headlight clamping brackets, dashboard with all instruments, fully machined steering box with casing, side plates, column and internals, fuel tank, spare wheel carrier and ignition spark plug rail.
The project is almost complete and all parts are exact copies of originals.
