We are delighted to present for sale this recently rebuilt Series 3 Land Rover®, finished in the popular Deep Bronze Green colour scheme with Limestone wheels. We purchased this vehicle locally to our premises, from a gent that had it rebuilt by a well-known specialist who has since retired. Purchased in 2009 as a gift for him by his wife, he has owned it for almost 15 years – but due to many factors including lost storage and age catching up with him, he has decided to sell to us to ensure it goes to a home it deserves.
Externally, this has all the features you’d want in a rebuilt Series 3 – vintage number plates, bonnet mounted spare, front lifting eyes, rear grab handles, towball and electrics to allow towing of a trailer if so required, larger defender style door mirrors for superior visibility whilst driving, recent canvas and a set of cross climate tyres to give a good compromise between off and on road ability. The front wing tops have been reinforced by checker plate, to avoid scratches and dents. In our opinion, contrast silver & black detailing against the galvanised chassis really adds to the look.
On the inside, the interior is largely standard – with three front deluxe seats with lap belts, along with deluxe matting to the footwells. The only notable addition in the front is a Stereo & Speakers with DAB & Bluetooth capabilities – a nice touch for those who want to drive along listening to their music or play sat nav directions through the speakers! There is also a USB charging point for a phone, sat nav or tablet, which is handy. The rear is fitted with a pair of rear bench seats, giving seating for seven people including the driver…. meaning the whole family can come along on trips out together to the woods, beach, pub or local village.
We went to collect this vehicle from Teesside & drove it back to our premises over the North Yorkshire Moors – this included B Roads, A Roads & Motorways over the course of an hour and a half….. all of which this vintage truck took in her stride without fault (and without any unforeseen stoppages). The weber carb means more power over standard, which is handy when cruising – this Series was very happy at 55-60mph & would go faster should a prospective owner be brave enough to keep pushing on! The rebuilt feel is evident behind the wheel with nice tight steering, good brakes and even a supple ride when compared to others, too. We really enjoyed our drive through the villages and based on the reactions of the public, they enjoyed seeing us trundle through too.
In summary, if you are looking for a Series 3 that has been rebuilt onto a Galvanised Chassis, which can stand the test of time whilst carrying the whole family, then this is surely worth considering. With MOT & Tax Exemption along with Classic Insurance, it should prove to be a solid investment for the future whilst not breaking the bank. The cost to specify a “fresh” rebuild is nearly twice the figure we are selling this one for – so this represents great value for a recently completed vehicle, especially when one considers that you can have this delivered immediately without the wait associated with spec’ing your own, which currently stands around 6-9 months.
