I have this 1994 Mazda Eunos 1. 8 R-Ltd for sale, a car I have owned for the last 7 or 8 years. However it has been off the road for quite a few years and now needs a fair old amount of work before it can be used again. I started doing some of this but as usual I have too many projects going on and not enough time. First the good news: I spent about £1300 having the floors, sills and underside repaired. Its now completely solid underneath. However the outer bodywork needs finishing off and then the whole car needs painting as the lacquer is flaking off.

Only 894 Eunos R-Ltds were ever produced in Satellite Blue so its a relatively rare car. This one still has its 15” BBS alloys fitted complete with centre caps. It also has a lightened flywheel, a Torsen 4. 3 lsd and yellow engine bay strut brace as fitted to the R-Ltd models.

It start and ticks overs nicely though it needs a jump start as the battery no longer holds any charge (I can start it with a booster pack so you can hear the engine running etc). The gearbox is fine as is the clutch and I have just fitted a new clutch slave cylinder. The brakes work ok but will need a rebuild. I have just replaced the spark plugs and air filter. I started work on the suspension and brakes a couple of years ago, starting with the drivers side front corner. I fitted a new brake disc and pads, new stainless steel braided flexible hose, new lower ball joint, new polybushes, new track rod and new anti-roll bar link. The plan was to do the same to each other wheel but it just never happened. So now it needs four new shocks/ springs, probably three new brake discs and new brake pads for the rear. It also needs four new tyres as the old ones are perished. The stereo is missing and the electric window mechanisms will need either cleaning at best or possibly replacing.

The blue vinyl soft top is in good condition though its dirty. Seats are red leather and are slightly untidy but passable. The dashboard has cracks in its top surface though I can throw in a replacement dash. It still has its original Nardi wood-rimmed steering wheel and matching handbrake handle and gearknob though all are slightly scruffy. Its covered an indicated 118, 000 but I think this is a combination of miles and kilometres.

Bodywork needed includes a rear wheel arch and a front wing plus paint. I’ll warn you that the photos probably make the car look better than it is and I should also mention that there is no way anyone is driving this home – it needs to be trailered away thanks to tyres that are utterly finished.

Obviously, its not MOT tested and its being sold as one for Spares or Repair. There is a chance that I might sell the rare 15” wheels separately but someone would need to make a really good offer to make it worth the hassle involved. Car is located in Berwick upon Tweed TD15. I’m looking for £1995.
