We are proud to offer for sale our fully restored concours Suzuki RM250, this bike follows hot on the heels of its sister bike (the RM125) that sold within two days of being advertised recently with us.
Our RM250 is a 1978 example that was actually known as the ‘78 and a half’ model due to it having the later plastic fuel tank and alloy swing arm. The bike was purchased by its most current owner from an rider that had had the bike for 31 years, before him it was competed by a local MX team/ dealer in Stockport called Bryco and before that it spent its first year competing with the Crooks Suzuki MX team. It has then rebuilt using genuine parts where possible, plastics are imports from the US, the rear shocks are genuine and period WP items that were on it originally from around 1980, which have been stripped, rods ground and plated, re gassed etc. It has had a crank build, rod kit, new gaskets and seals, new brake shoes etc... The wheels are genuine hubs with stainless spokes on new alloy rims and tyres. new brake shoes etc. The plastics were painted to give the best finish as it was never intended to be used and only stood for showing. The bike is supplied with numerous receipts and would make a great addition to any collection but is also a usable crosser should the new owner wish to.
The RM series was Suzuki's range of two-stroke motorcycles manufactured for motocross racing with the prefix "RM" standing for "Racing Machine" The RM125 was introduced in 1975 superseding the TM series. The RM continued to be manufactured until 2008 when they were replaced by the RM-Z series featuring four-stroke engines but the RM models remain popular with enthusiasts.
