With a low production quantity of 1, 108 vehicles, the Thruxton has been a sought-after collectors item for years. Velocette was successful on the Isle of Man in 1969 with a Thruston. The victory was in the Production TT class. Like a large number of motorbike factories, Velocette Motorcycles originated from a bicycle manufacturing company in 1904. With the Thruxton, Velocette reached the peak of single-cylinder production, but almost simultaneously had to cease operations in 1971.
