Exterior: The 1957 Corvette C1 for sale here has been recently painted in the original colour, “Venetian Red”, and it looks amazing. All the exterior chrome details on this car are in condition like new. There is a new white soft top on the car. The C1 looks great with big white wall tyres and original hubcaps. For American standard during this time, the Corvette was considered a small sportscar, while in Europe it would be the same size as for example a Mercedes sedan with its 4300mm in length. As you can see in the pictures, this is the Corvette C1 with single headlight making it slightly rarer than the more common twin headlight cars that came in 1958 and onwards. This is a car that gets a lot of road attention.

Interior: Despite the outside size on the 1957 Corvette C1, the inside is best suited for a medium size driver. Once behind the big wheel, you are sitting very comfortably in this American sportscar. There are many small very cool details. For example, on the passenger’s side you have a speaker in the same shape as the driver’s instrument cluster. Also, with a little button between the seats, you open the rear deck lid to get your soft top out. The upholstery on the seats is new, just like the red carpets in the car. All the small instruments in the center of the car are doing their job. Side windows are manually operated. The trunk is large in this car, and all the panels and the carpet back there are new. Underneath a lid, you will find the spare wheel.

Engine and mechanics: The car fires up easily, and the big V8 runs super smoothly. It is a very pleasant exhaust note that perfectly suits the car. What I personally like is the manual gearbox that is very firm and easy to operate. The acceleration is phenomenal, so you will quickly be up in desired cruising speed for a convertible. Then, a gentle tap on the brakes will quickly slow you down. It was not driven much over the years. However, since the Corvette is coming directly from a reputable workshop that has done a lot of work to it, it should now be ready for many years of trouble-free driving.

History: The present owner imported the car from Florida America in 1982. First registered in Denmark and then in 2013 in Sweden. It was taken trough Technical Inspection here in Sweden in 2013 and in 2015. After this, it is not required any more for a car of this age. The 1957 Corvette comes with the original Swedish registration documents and the relevant invoices of work done. You now have a chance to purchase a piece of American motor history, and to most people the one and only American sportscar.
