The Alfa Romeo 2600 (Tipo 106) was Alfa Romeo´s six-cylinder flagship produced from 1962 to 1968. It was the successor to the Alfa Romeo 2000. It has become historically significant as the last Alfa Romeo to have been fitted with an inline six-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts delivering 145 HP. That had been the traditional Alfa Romeo engine configuration since the 1920’s, but gave way to four-cylinder engines as the factory oriented its production towards more economical mass-produced car models starting in 1950.
The 2600 was introduced at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show, as a sedan with a factory-built body (2600 Berlina), a coupe with a body by Bertone (2600 Sprint) and a two-plus-two seater convertible with body made by Carrozzeria Touring (2600 Spider), famous because of other iconic cars like Aston Martin DB4 and DB5, Lamborghini 350 and 400 GT, Jensen Interceptor and many more. Only around 2. 150 Touring Spider LHD were ever build, it was one of those Italian masterpieces of the early sixties, always compared with the Maserati 3500 GT and Ferrari 250 Cabriolet.

This 2600 Touring Spider was delivered new in April 1963 in the Netherlands to its first owner. It always stayed in Europe and received a 'full restoration' by an Alfa Romeo workshop proved by a large photo file, showing all mechanics and body were done in 2017 together with new chrome wheels, a new soft top and new interior.
