The DB9S styling package for the DB9 was supplied by leading design house in the UK, Project Kahn. The DB9S styling package provides a contemporary look that stays true to the original Aston Martin DBS style. The design team aims are to recognise the importance of staying true to the original design themes of bespoke vehicles while providing a new and dynamic appearance that follows on the original contours of the car. The DB9S styling package comprises of two front and two rear valance pieces, side skirts and rear boot lip spoiler. The addition of the front valance sections provides the aggressive front bumper and the moulded side skirts provide a 'low to the road' look which beautifully sets off the curves and flows of the original bodywork. The styling package is finished off perfectly by a set of 20" Kahn RSV alloy wheels, which Aston Martin actually used on their DBS prototype.
This 2005 example was provided has been provided with the DB9S upgrade kit by Kahn. Finished in Onyx Black metallic paintwork with complimentary Carbon fibre detailing and Kahn 20” rims, the interior is upholstered in two tone Burgundy and Anthracite leather with Grey suede accents and Burgundy carpets, with the dash surround, and door trims are finished in Piano Black, and the headrests are finished with the DB9S insignia. Signed by Ian Callum, the primary designer of the Aston Martin DB9, the factory provided extras including: rear parking sensors, folding door mirrors, Immobiliser alarm, fitted tracker, multi-function steering wheel, electric heated seats with bolster, cruise control, flappy paddle gear change, satellite navigation, CD Player, SIM connectivity facility.
‘V12 MNX’ has been lavished with further enhancements including the front grille upgraded to the later version, sports suspension provided, together with an upgrade of the gearbox oil cooler prior to the current ownership, which the Aston Martin entered in 2015. In the current ownership, the gearbox oil has been changed and gearbox sump filter replacement carried out at 52, 000 miles, as well as replacement spark plugs and coil packs at 38, 000 miles. Most recently, the DB9S has been provided with carbon edition clear rear lamps, and Stage 2 Larini sports exhaust. Now having covered some 62, 000 miles from new, the Aston Martin is offered with cherished registration number ‘V12 MNX’.
Rated as ‘excellent’ throughout by the vendor (regarding bodywork, paintwork, engine, gearbox, electrical equipment and interior trim), leather owner’s wallet and service record, which shows that the DB9S was most recently serviced by Aston Martin Workshop in June last year at 61, 683 miles.
