Tiny Car Company are delighted to offer for sale this lovely UK Right Hand Drive Fiat 500 Otto Bulloni.

This car is particularly special having only had 2 former keepers from new, with the current keeper having owned the car for 41 years, purchasing it as her first car in 1983 and using it daily for a year and a half, then upgrading to a bigger car but keeping the 500 ever since. the car has been garaged and lightly used and has covered just 62, 500 miles. The car remains a matching numbers car with the original engine and even retains its original handbooks.

The Otto Bulloni or 8 bolt door cars were only built for a 6 month period in early 1965 following discontinuation of the suicide door 500D but predating the 500F. These 'crossover' cars used a lot of the earlier D parts and some of the subsequent 500F parts and are very unusual to find, especially UK RHD examples of which this is the only one we have seen. This car was registered from new in 1965 as a 500D on the logbook and sold by Stokes Motors of Weston-Super-Mare. The original dealership rear window sticker and dash plaque are still present on the car today.

The Otto Bulloni cars were named as each door was held on with 8 bolts rather than 4 as all subsequent 500s used. Other areas of the car that were carried over from the earlier 500D include the earlier rear engine bay vent with 6 fixings rather than 3, the aluminium rear numberplate light and interior handles, the earlier fuse box and brake reservoir and the earlier gearbox. The belief is that these cars were produced to use up parts stock from the 500D before the launch of the 500F although there is very little information online about the Otto Bulloni cars.

As can be seen in the photographs, the car is in lovely condition having been kept in good order its whole life and has never been subject to a full restoration. as such the 500 retains a delightful light patina. The car, we are told, is all original panels but was partially resprayed 20+ years ago. We have lightly polished the car to bring back the shine and it looks superb.

Inside, everything is again very lovely and highly original, the interior paintwork appears to be the original, the 2 tone seats are in excellent condition as is the lovely cream steering wheel and dash. The original rubber floor mats are all present and in good condition other than where the drivers feet have started to wear through, a piece of carpet has been placed over the top in these areas.

Most of the brightwork has clearly been replaced in the past as the chrome is in excellent condition. The aluminium parts all appear to be original and the sunroof could also be the original and is good order. the car is wearing whitewall tyres with good tread all round.

The mechanicals have been maintained by the Father of the current keeper who has owned and looked after Fiats all his life and has serviced this car yearly despite its little use and has started it regularly. In the last 3 years, the car has had a full brake overhaul with master and slave cylinders, shoes, drums and hoses, a new fuel tank and fuel lines, wheel bearings and a new battery as well as its yearly service.

We have given the car a thorough inspection, performed an oil and filters service, attended to some wiring issues and replaced the ignition system with new, points, rotor, cap, leads, coil, condensor and spark plugs. The car now starts easily and drives very well. We have put through its paces, covering 150 miles in a day, touring around central London with a group of other 500s and it performed faultlessly and was a joy to drive.
