1970 FIAT 500F RHD with upgraded 650cc and synchronised gearbox For Sale

Tiny Car Company are pleased to offer for sale this lovely UK Right Hand Drive Fiat 500F first registered in 1970. The car is in an eye catching but non standard Green with matching upholstery and has the desirable engine and gearbox upgrades.

This is a lovely solid RHD UK 500F with the iconic cream steering wheel and round speedo. The car has the popular 650cc engine and synchronised gearbox upgrade from the Fiat 126, making this a very reliable and useable Fiat 500 that is easy to drive and able to keep up with modern traffic! This upgrade also benefits from an alternator allowing for more reliable charging than the original dynamo.

The car is generally in very good condition, having been restored in the past and repainted in the striking green it wears today, alongside this the car has recently had a complete interior retrim in custom black with green piping with a green fabric sunroof completing the look. The bodywork is solid with no rust but this is an older restoration so the car has picked up a few small chips and scratches over the years as well as a small dent in the lower rear quarter panel near the rear bumper. The interior benefits from some lovely period static seatbelts for the driver and passenger, a clock is fitted to the dash. The radio is non functioning as its only a facia to cover where a radio was fitted previously, a radio could however be easily installed as the car already has the space in the dash, speakers in the door cards and an aerial fitted.

Mechanically, this 500 is spot on, starting easily and driving very well, the 650cc engine and gearbox look very fresh and drive very well so we suspect these were refurbished units that were installed fairly recently. We put this cheeky cinquecento through its paces last weekend on a 150 mile round trip around London in convoy with a group of other 500s and it performed faultlessly and attracted loads of attention everywhere we went! The car has recently had a complete brake overhaul and stops very well and looks to have had new wheels fitted recently which are shod in the correct Pirelli Cinturato tyres. We have given the car an inspection and a service, replaced some of the ignition system that can be a pitfall on these little 2 cylinder engines, sorted out a few wiring issues and ensured everything on the car is working properly making this car ready for some summer adventures!

The car was recorded category C (cosmetic damage) in 2008 but was then properly repaired and passed its Vosa check in November 08. We are told a previous owner backed into a horsebox and that the damage was very minor, but in 2008 Fiat 500s were not as collectible as they are today so it wasn't repaired under insurance. Pretty much all Fiat 500s have had lots of bodywork repairs, being 50+ years old so this should not put off prospective buyers, however we have factored this into our price and believe this makes for an excellent value Fiat 500 with the desirable performance upgrades!
