This beautiful MG A 1500 was built in October 1958 and hit the road with its first owner in February 1959 in California. When it was introduced, the MG A was immediately a very popular model because of its sporty driving behaviour and good price/ quality ratio. In that respect, little has changed in the past 60 years.
Let’s start at the beginning with this very beautiful, fully restored MGA. The chassis is rock hard and completely free of rust and the entire undercarriage has been completely restored. The sheet metal is very beautiful, free of signs of wear and with correct fits. During the restoration, the car was also fitted with a new convertible top that is still in neat, used condition. The interior has also been completely overhauled and completely reupholstered.
It is also probably the completely overhauled engine matching, but the Heritage certificate does not mention the engine number. But inspection showed that this engine number corresponds to the year of manufacture 1958. The engine runs very nicely and the gear changes are very smooth. The colour Old English White against the red leather-lined interior with a red fabric hood provides a beautiful classic contrast. The MG A remains a wonderful British classic. A beautiful design, a good chassis and a wonderful 1. 5 4-cylinder engine. All controls and instruments on the dashboard are in perfect condition and function as they should.
Given that the MGA was restored in 2013, this is a testament to the quality delivered at the time, as it still looks beautiful. During this restoration they also chose to replace all the chrome, the windscreen and all body rubbers were replaced and the entire wiring was replaced. This MGA originally had steel rims and these were replaced by chrome 60 spoke rims.
Bring back the “sixties” and enjoy the beautiful driving behaviour and the wonderfully smooth engine at full throttle in this fully restored MG A.
