The 1980’s was a period renowned for producing cool looking motorcycles. Sharp angular styling, bold colour schemes and ground-breaking engineering resulted in a decade of motorcycle releases that reshaped the industry. Part of Kawasaki’s contribution at this time was their launch of the GPZ750, an air-cooled, 4 cylinder ‘Sports Bike’ with styling very much in vogue with the 80’s ethos. Whilst the GPZ750 never quite gained the cult status of its larger sibling, the GPZ900, it was nonetheless a great all-round package boasting respectable performance and great looks, and now represents an excellent example of a solid, usable, big classic bike with plenty of style. In 1983 the GPZ750 gained the designation ‘F’ when it underwent a minor change. It raised the power by 5PS, making it 77PS, by changing the internals of the engine. Kawasaki kept selling this model until 1986, even after the introduction of the water-cooled Z series.

A nice, original condition GPZ is becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially with mileage as low as this example, which is also the more powerful ‘F’ model and, being first registered in 1986, also one of the very last of the air-cooled models. This therefore has to be one of the finest examples available.
