Description
First registered September 1967, the Jaguar Heritage Certificate that is present with the car’s records confirms this car as a UK supplied Right Hand Drive Manual with Overdrive 340 saloon supplied by Bailey and Law of Lancaster.
We supplied the car to the most recent owners in September 2018 after its showing at the Goodwood Revival that year. Although featuring earlier Mark 2 bumpers, (which we believe were added when car was restored to order around 2005/ 2006) this is actually a 340 which brings certain advantages. Firstly, it is the rarest of the Mark 2 generation of cars (save the 380 which never became a production car) with just 2, 788 cars produced and secondly, the power was we understand, increased to equivalence of the 3. 8 Mark 2 with the addition of a revised straight port cylinder head.
In 2018 when the car first came to us it had been owned by a local gentleman who had a number of classic cars and we understand that he had used the 340 at his second home in France. Prior to that we were advised it had been in the Nuttall Collection and the restoration had been commissioned by them. At supply by us it was inspected by Yale Engineers and their report remains with the car’s documents.
Finished in Signal Red with Magnolia Leather piped red and Chrome Wire Wheels, plus Coombs style spats to the rear arched (originals with the car) this is a very good-looking example. Just serviced by the Surrey Jaguar Centre who fitted new Clutch Master and Slave Cylinders and a new Brake Master Cylinder.
A competitively priced example which we will fully inspect prior to sale and although now MoT exempt we will provide a fresh MoT at sale for peace of mind.
