Originally from the USA, this beautiful LHD Triumph TR4A with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) was imported into France in 2014, where it received a full ‘body-off’ restoration between 2018 to 2020.

Following its restoration, the owner exported and re-registered the Triumph in the UK and it has since completed approx 2, 500 miles, attending local classic car events and meetings. Due to bereavement the family are selling the TR4A and have priced the car for a quick sale. All documentation is ready for the completion of a sale.

During the restoration the chassis was cleaned, repaired, treated and painted. The body and all panels were professionally painted in its original colour of Triumph red and it has a black leather interior with seats piped in white, painted wire wheels with chrome spinners and new chrome bumpers.

The engine was fully stripped and reconditioned with new pistons and liners, reground crankshaft and bearings, a ‘fast-road’ camshaft was fitted with new rocker shaft and rockers, complemented by new carburettors, reground valves and hardened valve seats along with a new timing chain and tensioner. A new wiring loom was installed along with a new voltage control box and ignition set.

Benefitting from ‘Overdrive’ on 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears, the gearbox was stripped, checked and professionally rebuilt with many new parts. A new clutch plate, cover and release bearing was fitted along with a new clutch master and slave cylinder and new differential mounts. The brakes callipers were overhauled, new rear brakes fitted and a new brake master cylinder. Additionally the steering was overhauled with new track-rod ends.

The leather seats and interior trim is all in excellent condition and a new ‘walnut’ dashboard facia was fitted along with a new black hood and windscreen, there is also a black Tonneau cover. All the chrome trim is in very good condition.

Although exempt due to its age, the Triumph has just had a MOT test which is valid until April 2025. There is a large history file detailing numerous invoices and costs of the restoration, including photographs.

EUROPEAN BUYERS: This stunning left-hand-drive TR4A was previously registered in France (Carte Grise de Collection) and we can assist with the export and registration (immatriculation) process if required, to return the car anywhere in Europe.
