This Austin 10 Cambridge was registered new in March 1937 and was given the registration number ETA470 which it still retains today.
It has the unusual option of a small vent mounted in the centre of the roof known as a "smokers light".
In 1990 it underwent a full restoration with some photographs in the history file showing the car disassembled along with a description of the restoration and invoices for the work undertaken.
It has also been fitted with removable modern indicators fastened on the bumpers front and rear to make it safer to drive on todays roads.
We collected from the executors of the estate of a very elderly gentleman who had bought the car in 2016 from a classic car dealer in the Midlands at a cost of £8495 which shows the high standard of the car at the time. It is still in excellent condition today.
The history file contains the current V5 log book, copies of two previous V5s, other DVLA paperwork , a series of previous MOT certificates, dozens of invoices for parts purchased, the photographs of the disassembled body and some service and maintenance handbooks.
This car is MOT exempt and qualifies for free road tax as its taxation class is Historic. The current recorded mileage is 3764 but the history shows an invoice for the speedometer to be rebuilt.
