Description
Ford Sierra XR4i 4x4 – Utterly Original Car
At the 1985 Geneva Motor Show, the four-wheel drive Sierra XR4x4 was launched. The Ford had two viscous differentials with two thirds of the power directed towards the rear wheels thus retaining the car's rear-wheel drive characteristics while taking handling to a level similar to that of the Audi Quattro.
The 5 door Series 2 was introduced in 1987 with a slightly larger 2. 9 V6 delivering 150BHP giving a top speed of 125mph.
At Milestones we do try to keep a small number of 1980/ 90 emerging classics for our discerning customers to use as an everyday car that stands out in the car-park or simply a highday and holiday car that can be used sparingly/ polished regularly while appreciating in value.
Our ex-Ford registered demonstrator (OO Ford Essex registration) was purchased from Ford by the second keeper, Mr Lewry in 1989 and he retained the Sierra for the next 26 years. The car was meticulously maintained by him and covered just over 60k miles before being put into storage in 1999.
Purchased by the third owner in 2014 the car was recommissioned with new clutch, fuel pump/ tank, stainless exhaust, battery, brakes and a full service.
The Sierra is in nice condition right down to the original Ford radio/ cassette and retro dash. She comes with the original information pack, service book with 12 stamps, invoices and old MOTs backing up warranted mileage of 88k – a truly exceptional survivor with rust free body/ excellent mechanics.
Milestones have sold this outstanding example three times in the last five years and this under-rated “Blue Oval” model is an immensely entertaining driver’s car that should be used and enjoyed.
