MGB GT: Full Restoration/ High Specification/ Superb
The MGB GT, designed by Pininfarina, was introduced in October 1965, and can claim to be one of the earliest sports hatchbacks to go into volume production. The rear deck offers excellent luggage space with a 2+2 option and improved aerodynamics gives the GT a top speed in excess of 100mph.
At Milestone Classics we are always seeking special MGB GT’s - we look at many and buy very few. We were therefore delighted when the current owner asked us to market this very special BGT that we sold to him last year.
The previous owner was Bob Lee, a retired MG specialist in West Sussex with over 50 years of knowledge who had known his beloved MG BGT from day one – the car was sold when new by Wadham Stringer Ltd (Guildford). The first owner was Ray May, a local car enthusiast who raced Allard’s wand he refused to use Wadham Stringer to service/ work on his new car preferring Bob’s knowledge on all things MG.
The MG was sold on by Ray but in 2000 Bob’s daughter saw the car on a driveway near her home and a deal was done.
