Following the success of Audi’s RS2 due to their collaboration with Porsche, Audi launched the B5 RS4 in 2000. This time Audi teamed up with Cosworth given they owned the engine specialists. Audi and Cosworth delivered a very special car and offering for the enthusiast. The Audi RS4 is the top tier and highest performing version of the Audi A4 range and a well-respected performance car amongst enthusiasts. It boasts wider front and rear wheel arches than the standard manufactured A4 variant to allow for the wider axle track on the RS4. Much-lauded at its launch, many believed it being an estate car merely added to the appeal. Utilising a 2. 7-litre Bi-Turbo V6 which was pushing out 375bhp and 0-60mph in under five seconds when new and with Journalists stating they exceeded 170mph on the press drives. The RS4 is a functional, supremely competent piece of German automotive engineering, with modern-classic status with perhaps fewer than 300 left in the UK given that only 400 were manufactured in right hand drive for the UK originally.
