The Steadman TS100 is a stylish and beautiful sports car, based on the legendary and world-famous Jaguar SS100. In the fifties, Bill Steadman was one of the owners of a Jaguar SS 100. Years later, he wanted to make a new creation while retaining the graceful and balanced lines of this iconic car. In his own company Ottercradt in Cornwall, the Steadman TS100 was created. The basis was a Jaguar XJ6 with a 245 hp High Compression 6-cylinder engine. The design has a striking number of similarities with the original SS 100 with familiar features such as the long bonnet, the large headlights and the flowing lines. The result is a very usable classic car with sublime roadholding and perfect performance.
This Steadman TS100 is also extra special and unique. Of the 28 copies produced, only three are left-hand drive versions, of which this is one. This copy was sold to Belgium in 1994 with only 36, 000 km and was stored dry there for 27 years before being completely checked and registered in 2022. The counter now reads just over 37, 000 km and the car has a Dutch registration.
This beautiful Steadman TS100 is still in very good condition. The stylish and sporty color Carmen Red forms a beautiful combination with the black leather interior. Apart from a few minor traces of use, the fully aluminum body is in exceptionally good condition. This also applies to the various chrome and trim parts of this classic roadster. The body parts fit together nicely. The stylish 15” chrome spoke rims give the car extra style. The convertible top is also in very good condition and this also applies to the tonneau cover.
The interior is also still in particularly good condition. The black leather bucket seats are sturdy, which is perfect for wonderfully sporty driving. The steering wheel is also firmly in the hand and thanks to the power steering, driving is particularly comfortable. The dashboard is in very good condition and all instruments work properly. The windshield can be folded down so that the two aero screens are more visible.
This Steadman TS100 is without a doubt a particularly wonderful driver's car. The 4. 2 6-cylinder engine runs particularly well and has sufficient power for both comfortable and sporty driving. The powered disc brakes all around feel reliable and sturdy. In 2022, the brake calipers, discs and pads were completely renewed and new tires were also fitted. The automatic gearbox with 3 gears shifts perfectly, as you would expect from this iconic car.
