Since I've hardly driven it, barely 100 km since July, I'm parting with my 1981 Yamaha XJ 400, in very good condition, 58, 500 km, with a valid registration document in my name (the MOT will be passed next week). The engine has been partly rebuilt at 50, 000 km (pistons, timing chain, all engine seals changed, new and Japanese intake pipes, various parts checked, such as the clutch, gearbox, etc.).
The carburettor diaphragms were changed, carburettor adjustment and synchronisation carried out. The cylinder head gasket was also changed, the cylinder head tightening checked, new steering column bearings fitted, brake caliper piston seals and brake pads). The chassis is also in very good condition, nothing to report (shock absorbers changed and original Yamaha, spi seals and fork drain done). Other work and parts changed: Spark plugs, air filter, passenger grab bar, original indicators and mirrors found and fitted, etc. It is sold with its decoration (Kenny Roberts style), a huge amount of work having been done on the tank and a very rare vintage Giuliari seat. The tyres are ok and the 4-in-1 pot (a real Marshall) is in excellent condition. EVERYTHING is original, apart from the colour, of course, and the 4-in-1. Price to be seen in front of the bike.
